Membership is for individuals who want a deeper, longer-term relationship with AER than occasional volunteering. Members help shape the research agenda, support project teams, and contribute to peer review.
Who should consider membership?
Professionals: Several years of experience in energy or adjacent sectors.
Academics: Researchers focused on African energy questions.
Senior Volunteers: Those who want to deepen their existing involvement with AER.
What is expected of members
Participate regularly in at least one research program or committee.
Uphold AER’s neutrality and methodological standards.
Provide constructive review and mentoring where relevant.
Act as ambassadors for AER’s work in their networks.
